記事にするかしばらく悩んでいましたががこれからは軽く触れていこうかと思います。
ゲームをして稼ぐ。
このキーワードで日本人が今までイメージするとすれば
このあたりが現実的で常識の範囲だったと思います。
ところが仮想通貨やブロックチェーン技術が当たり前の世の中になってきたことで状況は一変。
ゲームのキャラクターやアイテム、ゲーム内通貨などがブロックチェーン上のトークンとして発行されるようになり、全ての物に現実と同じく価値が付き、仮想通貨や法定通貨での売買対象となることが当たり前になってきました。
それによりゲーム内で得られるアイテムもトレード対象となり、
ゲームをプレイして得られる物を売ることでリアルマネーを稼ぐ(Play to Earn)ことが現実になりました。
ブームの代表格であるAxie Infinity(アクシーインフィニティ)であれば初期投資(プレイするキャラクターの購入が必要)はかかるものの、1人でも数時間のプレイで毎日数千円レベルの収入が現実的なものになっています。
Play to earn のゲームの初期投資は基本的に数万円～と高額なことが多く、入り口が狭い(お金が出せない人や躊躇する人も多い)ため、Axie Infinityではスカラーシップというシステムが組まれ、キャラクターを貸し出すことでお互いに一定の割合収入(7:3や6:4など)を得る(要するに雇用関係に近い)システムまで出来上がっています。(それでもお互いにしっかりとプラスが出る)
全てのゲームががっつり稼げるかどうかの保証はないこと、投資として見る視点、プレイヤーとして見る視点と、様々な状況が交錯している状況です。
Axie Infinityについてはゲーム性も高く、今後の展開(Lands)も予定されており、さらにはeSportsとしての展開まで現在進行系で進んでいるので少々収益性が下がってもしばらく盛り上がりは続くかと思います。
